Finding the Answers

How many times have you flipped through the channels and seen television shows about witchcraft or wizardry, or seen an advertisement trying to convince you to call a 1- 900 number that will put you in touch with your very own psychic? How often have you been surfing the Internet and found sites that make horoscopes, witchcraft, or other forms of the occult sound exciting and tempting?

We live in a world that is fascinated with the occult. Rather than turning to God or His word for answers, many people turn to ” mediums and familiar spirits,” that is, to psychics, astrologists, fortune – tellers, witches, channelers, and others who receives their power from Satan, not God. God’s Word calls this kind of stuff an abomination; and in this particular verse, God says that He is against( or the enemy of) those who even visit someone who practices this kind of evil. Don’t associate with such people or allow your curiosity to lead you into experimenting with the occult.Instead, turn to Jesus. He really is the only One who can give you answers; He’s the One who controls your future.

When you need answers, go to God. He will speak to you through His Word and by His Holy Spirit. Listen to what God says and follow where He leads. He will always make sure you are in the right place at the right time and your future is a winning one. In fact, the Bible says you’re more than a conqueror(Rom.8:37), and God is on your side.

Love God

This is it. Matthew 22:36-37 tells us the most important commandment. If you’ve decided to get serious about your relationship with God, then this commandment is the place to start. Every element of being Christlike is built on this principle. Learning to love the Lord with your heart, soul, and mind will be a continual process that lasts your whole life.

So what does it look like to love the Lord with every part of you? It means that you begin to love the way God loves, think the way God thinks, act the way God acts, and hate the things God hates. Don’t hold Back. His love for you has no limits or hesitations. You have absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain by going for it.

Don’t be disappointed if you’re not an overnight sensation. Remember, this is a process – learning to spend time with Him; giving and receiving grace; working on areas of your life that don’t look anything like God; forgiving and being forgiven; trusting; slowly, ever so wonderfully, looking more and more like the One you love. Imitation is the highest form of adoration. Be an imitator of God.
